Let Your Light Shine! Some crayons are made green, others are pink, and once in a while one may even be gold! The Golden Crayon is different than all of the other crayons in the box, but that is what makes him special. When this little crayon learns to embrace his unique light, his inner confidence shines. The Golden Crayon learns a valuable lesson, that no matter your hue or shade, God made everyone perfect in His image.
About the Author: Kylee Tsuru
Kylee Tsuru grew up in a log cabin in the mountains of southwest Colorado. Her love for children’s literature was formed in her early years when her mom read Goodnight Moon and Where the Wild Things Are to her before bed. She attended her first creative writing workshop in middle school and began a lifetime love of writing. Transplanted to Houston in high school, she found herself giving up ski lessons on Sunday mornings to attend church services. Soon after hearing of God’s unbiased and unending love, she developed a love for those whom society unjustly ostracizes. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia, she joined the staff of an orphan’s ministry that serves orphaned and vulnerable children in the African country of Zambia. She currently lives in New York where she attends Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. The Golden Crayon is her first book. To connect with Kylee, follow her on Twitter @kyleetsuru.
